Most on-stream wheels just land on a result and stop there. This one talks to VTube Studio. When the wheel lands on a prize, Wheel of Item fires the VTS hotkey you mapped to that specific prize, and your VTuber model reacts — an expression change, a pose, a prop, whatever you built that hotkey to do. Different outcome, different reaction, all in real time. No other free wheel does per-result model reactions.
What you'll need
- VTube Studio with your model loaded and a few expressions/poses set up as hotkeys.
- OBS Studio (or any app with a Browser Source) to show the wheel on stream.
- About 10 minutes. Nothing to install beyond VTube Studio, which you already run.
Setup — step by step
- Prepare hotkeys in VTube Studio. Make the expressions or poses you want (shocked, hyped, sad, a confetti prop…) and assign each a hotkey. Then enable the VTube Studio API in Settings — the plugin API listens on port
8001. - Connect VTS in the dashboard. Open the streamer dashboard, go to the VTube Studio section, and click Connect. VTube Studio shows an Allow popup once — approve it. The token is saved, so from then on it reconnects silently every stream.
- Build your wheel. Add the outcomes you want as entries —
Penalty,Bonus,Chat picks the game, and so on. - Map each prize to a hotkey. In the VTS Advanced section there's a table with one row per wheel prize. For each prize, choose the VTube Studio hotkey that should fire, plus an optional delay (wait before firing) and hold (how long to keep it active).
- Add the wheel to OBS. Copy the widget URL and add it as a Browser Source with a transparent background over your scene.
- Spin and watch. Spin the wheel — from the dashboard, a chat command, or a donation. When it lands, that prize's hotkey fires and your model reacts on camera.
Why per-prize reactions are the fun part
A model that reacts the same way to everything gets old fast. When the reaction matches the outcome, the wheel becomes a bit: chat learns that landing on "Penalty" means the shocked face is coming, so the suspense builds before the wheel even stops. Reserve your biggest reaction for the rarest slice and every spin has stakes. It's the difference between a wheel that shows a result and a wheel that performs one.
Ways to trigger the spin

Troubleshooting
The model doesn't react when the wheel lands
Check that the VTube Studio API is enabled and that the dashboard shows VTS as connected. Then confirm the prize that landed actually has a hotkey mapped in the table — unmapped prizes intentionally do nothing.
It asks me to Allow the plugin every time
Approve it once in VTube Studio and make sure you're connecting from the same dashboard account; the token is stored to your account, so it should reconnect silently after the first approval.
The hotkey fires but nothing happens on the model
That means the connection works but the hotkey itself isn't wired to an expression/pose in VTube Studio. Re-check the hotkey assignment in VTS.
